Experience a real Atlantic crossing from St. Maarten to Málaga – the great adventure of bluewater sailing!
With our large and fast Hanse 575 GALINI we sail across the North Atlantic. We follow the classic northern route, let ourselves be guided by the weather and call at legendary stops such as Bermuda, the Azores and Lisbon before reaching our destination Málaga. Challenging navigation, night sailing, team spirit and the intense on-board life of an experienced Atlantic crew await you.
Our stops in harbours and anchorages are decided together. We are a crew that plans the route according to preferences, wind and weather.

Our adventure begins in April in St. Maarten. After boarding, a thorough safety briefing and joint provisioning, we use the time to get to know the crew and prepare the boat. As soon as everything is ready, we set sail for Bermuda. Depending on the weather and crew, we make a stopover in Hamilton – perfect for fresh supplies, shore excursions and a technical check. Then we set course for the Azores, navigating through changing winds, working in watch systems, trimming sails, observing the weather, cooking together and growing as a crew. If possible, we enjoy shore excursions and European culture in the Azores and later in Lisbon. The journey ends after the last leg on the Spanish sunshine coast in the port of Málaga.
Our Galini travels the world – and you can be part of it! With us, you are not an anonymous guest on a standard route, but part of a real crew that discovers new horizons together. We are not a classic charter company that runs the same tour every week. Instead, we sail together, experience the real boat life and embark on the adventure that the sea holds for us.
Step aboard a well-equipped, lovingly maintained boat and enjoy the special: With us, there is nothing off the peg. Every trip is unique – sometimes spontaneous, sometimes planned, always full of surprises. Unplanned experiences are just as much a part of it as relaxing days on deck. Do you want more than just to sail along? Together we take care of the technology and daily life on board, you can get involved in all areas and become part of life at sea. Our trips combine holiday, experience, mindfulness and real boat life. Become part of our crew – authentic, communal and full of adventure!

In April, the conditions for North Atlantic passages are ideal: The route takes us from St. Maarten northwards to Bermuda; here there is the possibility for a stopover, shore leave and technical check. Then we set a direct course for the Azores – real bluewater sailing on long legs, with navigation, night watches and shared onboard routine. After provisioning and a shore excursion in the Azores, the next big jump follows to Lisbon, before the last leg along the coast leads to Málaga. The northern route is known for fresh westerly and north-westerly winds, ocean fauna and a unique sense of vastness.
In April, ideal conditions await us on the classic northern route:
Wind: Often from west to north-west, 4–6 Bft. (15–25 knots)
Atlantic: Long, gentle swell (1–3 m)
Weather: Mostly dry and clear, rain showers are rare and short

What tasks does the crew have?
Everyone can, if they wish, help with sailing, even steer the ship for a while or simply enjoy the beautiful nature and the day. Furthermore, everyone is jointly responsible for the well-being of the crew. This means that each person takes turns preparing breakfast or taking care of dinner. Usually, the hobby chefs on board quickly emerge, and those who are not so into cooking simply step back and wash up. When mooring and unmooring, everyone generally lends a hand according to their abilities and after instructions from the skipper. The boat must be kept clean by the crew members during the trip. However, the final cleaning is done by the marina staff.
What exactly is the crew kitty?
All crew members (except the skipper) pay a jointly agreed amount into the crew kitty. This kitty covers all common expenses incurred during the trip (e.g., diesel, harbor fees, deposit insurance, transit log, visitor’s tax, national and nature park fees, service pack for provided bed linen, final cleaning, gas, marina fee for the first and last night in port, etc.). According to old seafaring tradition, the skipper is provided with meals by the crew during the trip.
What does cabin charter mean?
Cabin charter is the best option for anyone who wants to experience life under sail. Prior knowledge or personal sailing experience is not necessary. Perhaps you have already gained sailing experience, completed sailing training, and want to deepen it? – Then the skipper will give you the opportunity to try things out for yourself and help you gain future confidence. The crew can help shape the course of the trip, and your wishes will be taken into account, subject to safety and weather. On such a trip, you meet like-minded people, can make new pleasant acquaintances, and have an experienced skipper at your side who takes care of all nautical matters. The cabins on the yacht are usually equipped with different but very similar cabins. The berths are distributed by the skipper taking into account crew preferences. Entire cabins can be chartered by individuals, couples, or families. Payment is per person, and you don’t have to worry about anything else.
We want to make sailing more sustainable and environmentally friendly. On our GALINI, we test innovative products to combine a great sailing experience with the smallest possible ecological footprint. Our small team of experienced skippers looks forward to experiencing real sailing adventures with you. Our base is on Poros, Greece – from there we explore the most beautiful sailing areas in the world.
