Our adventure begins in Olbia with boarding, getting to know each other and a detailed safety briefing. From there we first sail along the Costa Smeralda towards Porto Cervo – Sardinia’s most exclusive stretch of coast with its turquoise bays. If wind and weather are favourable, we depart from here for the big crossing: approximately 165 nautical miles across the open Tyrrhenian Sea heading for the Pontine Islands. Night watches, starry skies and the special feeling of vastness and freedom make this passage a highlight of the voyage. On Ponza a gem away from mass tourism awaits us – dramatic cliffs, turquoise water and Italian island charm. From the Pontine Islands we continue into the Gulf of Naples. Depending on conditions, we head for Procida – the colourful little island that delights with its authentic charm – and of course Capri with its legendary Faraglioni rocks and the Blue Grotto. The final stages take us along the breathtaking Amalfi Coast – Positano, Amalfi, pastel-coloured villages on dramatic cliffs. Our destination harbour is Marina di Stabia at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, from where Naples airport can be reached in about 30 minutes. Which ports and bays we exactly call at and how long we stay where is decided – as in real sailing – by the wind, the weather and the crew together.
For those collecting miles for their next sailing certificate: Since we cross the open sea on this voyage, a considerable number of nautical miles go into the logbook. Of course we will issue you with an official mileage confirmation at the end of the trip.

The Tyrrhenian Sea offers ideal conditions in mid-June for a varied sailing itinerary. The route leads from Olbia along the Costa Smeralda to Porto Cervo, from there across the open sea to the Pontine Islands, then on to the Gulf of Naples and along the world-famous Amalfi Coast to Marina di Stabia. The legs are characterised by the big crossing with a night sail, sheltered island stops and leisurely coastal sailing along Campania’s steep coastline. Depending on the weather and crew, swimming stops in secluded coves, snorkelling and shore excursions to picturesque harbour towns are possible.
In mid-June we can expect summer temperatures (Air: Ø 25–30°C, Water: Ø 22–23°C). In the Tyrrhenian Sea, winds are usually moderate from north-west to west at 2–4 Bft., ideal for relaxed sailing and the big crossing. Near the coast, a reliable thermal breeze often builds up in the afternoon. Rain is very rare in mid-June – predominantly bright sunshine and long, warm evenings await us.
Our beautiful GALINI is a very fast, spacious and comfortable yacht. She spent the winter in the Caribbean and crosses the Atlantic in April/May.
She is a modern Hanse 575 with 4 double cabins and a skipper’s cabin. Each cabin has its own bathroom with electric toilet. Wi-Fi via Starlink (optional), multi-media, generator 220 V / 7 KW (230 V in all cabins), washing machine, bread maker and coffee machine. She has large solar panels, radar, AIS, watermaker, hydraulic bathing platform and a dinghy with outboard motor. An abundance of safety and navigation equipment and much more – everything needed to be self-sufficient without having to call at a supply port. A yacht that meets the highest requirements for safety, design and comfort.
The sailing characteristics are also outstanding! The Hanse was designed by Vovo Ocean Racern and is the fastest yacht in its class. Fun sailing is guaranteed!
Of course, unexpected things always happen on a boat. Minor repairs are part of everyday sailing. That’s also part of sailing life. GALINI is very well equipped with tools and spare parts. We also enjoy showing you how to lend a hand yourself, if you’d like.

What are the duties of the crew?
Anyone who wants to can help with sailing, take the helm occasionally, or simply enjoy the beautiful nature and the day. Furthermore, everyone is jointly responsible for the crew’s well-being. This means that everyone takes turns preparing breakfast or taking care of dinner. Usually, the hobby cooks on board quickly emerge, and those who are not so keen on cooking simply step back and do the washing up. When mooring and unmooring, everyone generally lends a hand according to their abilities and after instruction from the skipper. The boat must be kept clean by the crew members during the trip. However, the final cleaning is done by the marina staff.
What exactly does the onboard kitty mean?
All crew members (except the skipper) pay a jointly agreed amount into the on-board kitty. This kitty covers all common expenses incurred during the trip (e.g., diesel, harbour fees, deposit insurance, transit log, tourist tax, national and nature park fees, service pack for the provided bed linen, final cleaning, gas, marina fee for the first and last night in port, etc.). According to old seafaring tradition, the skipper is provided with meals by the crew during the trip.
What does cabin charter mean?
Cabin charter is the best option for anyone who wants to get to know the sailing life. No prior knowledge or personal sailing experience is required. But perhaps you have already gained some sailing experience, completed a sailing course and want to deepen it? – Then the skipper will give you the opportunity to try it out for yourself and help you gain future confidence. The crew can help shape the course of the trip and your wishes will be listened to, subject to safety and weather conditions. On such a trip, you meet like-minded people, can make new, nice acquaintances and have an experienced skipper at your side who takes care of all nautical matters. The cabins on the yacht are usually equipped with different but very similar cabins. The berths are allocated by the skipper taking into account the crew’s wishes. Whole cabins can be chartered by individuals, couples or families. Payment is per person and you don’t have to worry about anything else.
We want to make sailing more sustainable and environmentally friendly. On our GALINI, we test innovative products to combine a great sailing experience with the smallest possible ecological footprint. Our small team of experienced skippers looks forward to experiencing real sailing adventures together with you. Our base is on Poros, Greece – from there we explore the most beautiful cruising grounds in the world.
